The Mysterious Fossilized 70 year Old Pickle

Pickle(s) were canned in a midwest kitchen in the 1930’s. This jar, with rusted off top was discovered in an abandoned Montana house in 2002.
What is remarkable is that the pickle is now fossilized!!! Apparently when minerals and water are combined with living matter, under the right conditions, rapid fossilization can occur.
